Softball Recap: Mesa Verde Comes Up Short

Mesa Verde and Hughson squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Mesa Verde had to settle for second. They came up short against the Huskies, falling 14-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Mavericks were not able to get on the board.

Mesa Verde's loss dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Hughson, the victory (which was their 11th in a row) raised their record to 20-3.

Mesa Verde does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hughson, they will square off against Orestimba at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Huskies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season.
