Basketball Recap: Beloved Community Charter's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Wednesday

Beloved Community Charter had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top against the Bard Raptors by a score of 42-29 on Wednesday. Given the Owls' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 225th in New Jersey, while the Raptors are ranked 619th in New York), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Beloved Community Charter's victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Bard, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.

Looking ahead, Beloved Community Charter will square off against University on Saturday. University knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Beloved Community Charter likes a good challenge. Bard does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
