Basketball Game Preview: Fairfield Tigers vs. Anniston Bulldogs

Fairfield hasn't had much luck against Anniston recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Fairfield Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Anniston Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m.

Fairfield heads in on the heels of a playoff matchup on Tuesday. They were dealt a 49-18 defeat at the hands of Pleasant Grove. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 313th, while the Spartans are ranked 47th).

Meanwhile, Anniston entered their tilt with Talladega on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They slipped by the Tigers 55-54.

Anniston pushed their record up to 19-6 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.9 points per game. As for Fairfield, their loss dropped their record down to 4-17.

Fairfield was taken down by Anniston 59-21 when the teams last played back in November of 2023. Can Fairfield avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
