Niskayuna extended their winning streak to five on Wednesday, bumping their season record up to 8-4 in the process. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Ballston Spa Scotties an 8-0 shutout. Considering the Silver Warriors have won four matchups by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

As for Ballston Spa, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-2. The game marked the first time this year in which they were not able to get on the board.

For Ballston Spa's part, they got a good showing from Jameson Hotaling, who tossed four innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. Hotaling has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

Niskayuna and Ballston Spa should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps New York Rankings. The Scotties are on a six-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), the Panthers a four-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind.
