Baseball Recap: St. Mary Takes a Loss

St. Mary was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 4-1 to the McCracken County Mustangs, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-1 on Tuesday.

St. Mary saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Sims, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

St. Mary's defeat dropped their record down to 15-7. As for McCracken County, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 19-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Mary will venture away from home to face off against Marshall County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for McCracken County, they will head out to take on Pleasure Ridge Park at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Mustangs 2, the Panthers 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
