Basketball Recap: Heritage Academy Comes Up Short

Heritage Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 59-31 defeat at the hands of the Pillow Academy Mustangs. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 247th, while the Mustangs are ranked 22nd).

Heritage Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Pillow Academy, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 17-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Heritage Academy will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Starkville Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 27th. As for Pillow Academy, they will challenge Rossville Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
