Edgewood starts season with defeat on the road

Recap: Edgewood Rams vs. Fallston Cougars

Edgewood had to hit the road for their first game and sadly it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They wound up on the wrong side of a rough 14-0 walloping at the hands of the Fallston Cougars on Thursday. Edgewood has not had much luck with Fallston recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

For Fallston's part, Madison Burns was incredible, going 4-for-4 with a home run, eight RBI, and four runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Abigail Marmen, who went 4-for-4 with two triples, three RBI, and a stolen base.

Edgewood will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Perryville at 3:30 p.m. on April 5th. As for Fallston, they will head out on the road to take on Aberdeen at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Aberdeen and Fallston are at an even 4-4 over their past eight head-to-heads.
