Soccer Game Preview: Christian vs. Mira Mesa

The Christian Patriots will square off against the Mira Mesa Marauders at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Christian gave up the first goal last Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They had just enough and edged High Tech SD out 2-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Patriots.

Christian was without their leading scorer, Steven Benson, in Tuesday's game. With Benson sitting this one out, Brenner Lynn got some extra time on the pitch (80 vs. his season average of 59).

Meanwhile, Mira Mesa had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.3 goals) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They never let the Hornets onto the board and left with a 4-0 victory. Considering the Marauders have won four contests by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Christian pushed their record up to 7-2-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 14 goals over those five matches. As for Mira Mesa, their victory bumped their record up to 6-3-4.

Christian beat Mira Mesa by a goal in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, winning 2-1. Does Christian have another victory up their sleeve, or will Mira Mesa turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
