Basketball Recap: Academy of the Holy Names Skates Past Glens Falls with Ease

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Academy of the Holy Names had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 66-31 win over the Glens Falls Black Bears. Academy of the Holy Names has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matches by 20 points or more this season.

Despite the loss, Glens Falls saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Holly Hirsch posted 12 points. Hirsch continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

The victory snapped Academy of the Holy Names' losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 15-6 record. As for Glens Falls, they moved to 12-9 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Academy of the Holy Names nor Glens Falls have any future games scheduled.
