Volleyball Recap: Sycamore Takes a Loss

Sycamore lost against Dunlap back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Spartans took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Sam Matheny went supernova For Dunlap., getting six blocks, five kills, three digs, and three aces. That's the most digs Matheny has posted over her last six matches. Rebecca Lopez was another key player, getting four aces and one block.

Sycamore's loss dropped their record down to 16-13. As for Dunlap, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-9 record this season.

Sycamore wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Freeport on the 18th. As for Dunlap, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Woodstock North on the 18th.
