Baseball Game Preview: Talawanda Brave vs. Lakota West Firebirds

The Talawanda Brave will head out on the road to square off against the Lakota West Firebirds at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Talawanda has given up an average of 6.7 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Talawanda fell victim to Archbishop Moeller and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They came up short against the Fighting Crusaders, falling 13-0. The Brave have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Lakota West ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out Badin 8-7.

Lakota West is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Talawanda, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-18.

Talawanda might still be hurting after the 11-2 loss they got from Lakota West in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Brave avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
