Preview: Aquinas Blugolds vs. Tomah Timberwolves
After five games on the road, Aquinas is heading back home. They will take on the Tomah Timberwolves at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Aquinas has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 217 points over their last three contests.
Last Monday, Aquinas blew past Melrose-Mindoro, posting a 82-25 victory on the road. Given Aquinas' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 106th, while Melrose-Mindoro is ranked 216th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Aquinas found their leader in underclassman Samantha Davis, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Davis has scored at least 25% of Aquinas' points. Madeline Murphy was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Meanwhile, Tomah took a serious blow against Onalaska on Tuesday, falling 69-34.
Their wins bumped Aquinas to 4-2 and Melrose-Mindoro to 3-2.
Everything came up roses for Aquinas against Tomah when the teams last played back in January as the team secured a 80-29 victory. Does Aquinas have another victory up their sleeve, or will Tomah turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
