Softball Recap: Sundown Extends Home Winning Streak to Eight

Sundown won the last time they faced Post and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Roughnecks were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Antelopes. The result was nothing new for the Roughnecks, who have now won 18 matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Destiny Garza made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Garza was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three doubles, three RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Breigh Gregory and Nayleen Morin did most of the damage at the plate: Gregory scored two runs while going 3-for-4, while Morin scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Emry Jourden, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Sundown was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Post only posted a batting average of .211.

Sundown's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.9 runs over those games. As for Post, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 13-12 record.

As of now, neither Sundown nor the Antelopes have any future games scheduled.
