Holliston and Medway are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2017, but likely not for long. The Panthers will venture away from home to challenge the Mustangs at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Holliston has given up an average of 9 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Holliston is headed into Monday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Thursday. They lost 22-4 to Xaverian Brothers.
Aidan Kramer was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Gavin Sammon also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, Medway sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over Millbury on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.
Michael Connor made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high.
Connor wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Eli Kell, who went 3-for-4 with two runs. Those three hits gave Kell a new career-high.
Medway's record now sits at 3-1. As for Holliston, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
Holliston's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's matchup. The Panthers have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Medway, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Holliston continue to outrun the ball?
Holliston came out on top in a nail-biter against Medway in their previous matchup back in May of 2025, sneaking past 5-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
