Recap: Maranatha Minutemen vs. Valley Christian Defenders
There's no place like home for the Maranatha Minutemen, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 53-42 win over Valley Christian on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Maranatha also won the last time the pair played on January 5th.
Leading Maranatha to victory were Nicholas Khatchikian and Daniel Nwabudike. Khatchikian scored 12 points, while Nwabudike scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Chris Smith, who scored nine points along with two blocks.
Maranatha has been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for Valley Christian, they bumped their record down to 13-11 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road.
Maranatha will square off against Village Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Valley Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Heritage Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Heritage Christian is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.
