Basketball Recap: Palo Verde Snags 12th Victory in Last 13 Games

Palo Verde proved they can win big last Thursday (they won by 74) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Phoenix Country Day Eagles 57-55. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Titans have posted since December 23, 2023.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Palo Verde to victory, but perhaps none more so than Daniel Ortiz, who went 7-for-15 on his way to 20 points and three steals. Ortiz's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kameron Pippen, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten assists.

Palo Verde smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 12 consecutive matches.

Palo Verde is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season. As for Phoenix Country Day, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-3.

Looking ahead, Palo Verde will square off against San Tan Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. San Tan Charter will roll in looking for their 14th straight win, something Palo Verde surely won't give up without a fight. Phoenix Country Day does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
