Preview: Sage Creek Bobcats vs. Kamiak Knights
The Sage Creek Bobcats and the Kamiak Knights will round out the year against one another at 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday at. Sage Creek has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 858 points over their last 12 contests.
Even though St. Joseph Academy scored an imposing 60 points on Wednesday, Sage Creek still came out on top. Sage Creek took their contest against St. Joseph Academy 72-60. Given Sage Creek's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 206th, while St. Joseph Academy is ranked 507th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Sage Creek's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zac Peterson, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds. Those 22 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Stephens, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 16 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Kamiak pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Shorecrest by a score of 58-55. Kamiak has not had much luck with Shorecrest recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Sage Creek has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Kamiak, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 5-2.
