Volleyball Recap: Sonora Wildcats vs. Hughson Huskies

Sonora's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They won by a set and slipped past the Hughson Huskies 3-2. The Wildcats have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Huskies, too.

Sonora took Hughson into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-11, 25-16, 19-25, 16-14.

Several Huskies players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Izzy Piazza, who had 20 digs.

Sonora has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for Hughson, they now have a losing record at 11-12.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sonora will face off against Ripon at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ripon is coming into the contest with six straight victories on the road, so Sonora will have to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for Hughson, they will challenge Orestimba at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with ten consecutive losses for Orestimba and four for Hughson.
