Naples was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Whitman Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-7 back in April.

Theron VanZandt was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That RBI was his first of the season.

Naples' loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Whitman, their win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-1.
