Grand Canyon extends road losing streak to ten

Recap: Grand Canyon Phantoms vs. El Capitan/Centennial Academy

This season hasn't been kind to the Grand Canyon Phantoms, who are still winless after their 18th contest. They were beaten by El Capitan/Centennial Academy 104-6 on Saturday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Grand Canyon has scored all season.

Tristan Lambon was Grand Canyon's leading scorer, having posted four points.

El Capitan/Centennial Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ethan Hammon, who scored 25 points along with six rebounds. Hammon has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendall Hammon, who scored 14 points along with seven assists and six steals.

Grand Canyon bumped their record down to 0-18 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road. As for El Capitan/Centennial Academy, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-4.

Grand Canyon will head out on the road to face off against Greyhills Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Greyhills Academy is ranked 343rd, while Grand Canyon is ranked 347th). As for El Capitan/Centennial Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Fredonia at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
