The Southport Cardinals will head out to challenge the Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter Raiders at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

On Friday, Southport didn't have quite enough to beat Columbus East and fell 7-6.

Ady Stansbury was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off six hits. Stansbury was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs.

In other batting news, Natalie Vaeth made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Lindsey Vaught also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter). They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 21-20 victory over Christel House on Wednesday.

Addie Galbreath was incredible, getting on base in four of her six plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Harpar Finke, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter's win bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Southport, they now have a losing record of 11-12.
