Softball Recap: Poplar Springs Comes Up Short

Poplar Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against the Rocky Bayou Christian Knights, falling 18-5. The Atomics were not able to make up for their loss to the Knights from their previous meeting back in April of 2017.

Marissa Bollon was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

Poplar Springs' record is now 1-8. As for Rocky Bayou Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.

Poplar Springs will be playing at home against Bethlehem at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Rocky Bayou Christian, they are taking a road trip to square off against Pensacola at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
