Preview: Boles Hornets vs. Wolfe City Wolves
The Boles Hornets will play host again and welcome the Wolfe City Wolves, where kick-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
After soaring to 49 points the game before, Boles were a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They were dealt a 47-3 defeat at the hands of Honey Grove. Boles was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-3.
Meanwhile, Wolfe City took their match at home on Thursday with ease, bagging a 77-8 win over Como-Pickton. Given Wolfe City's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 560th, while Como-Pickton is ranked 1157th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Carson Herron continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 109 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, while also throwing for 196 yards and four touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Cayden Herron, who gained 81 total yards and two touchdowns.
Wolfe City's win bumped their season record to 6-1 while Boles' loss dropped theirs to 2-5.
Boles lost to Wolfe City at home by a decisive 34-18 margin in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. Will Boles have more luck at home instead of on the road?
