Volleyball Recap: West Carroll Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact West Carroll can now relate to. They fell 2-0 to the Galena Pirates on Monday. The Thunder's loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Avery Mangler paced West Carroll's offense, picking up five kills. Mangler got some help from Audri Wilcox and her eight assists.

Leading Galena to victory were Zoe Blaum and Emma Ehrler. Blaum had eight digs and five aces, while Ehrler had four digs and two aces. Those five aces gave Blaum a new career-high.

West Carroll's defeat dropped their record down to 9-23. As for Galena, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 28-6.

West Carroll does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Galena, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Lena-Winslow on the 29th.
