Recap: Marian Mustangs vs. Regina
The Marian Mustangs won the last time they faced Regina, and things went their way on Friday too. Marian came out on top against Regina by a score of 43-36. Given Marian's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 122nd, while Regina is ranked 289th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Mckenzie Swanson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a triple-double on 14 points, 12 rebounds, and nine blocks. Another player making a difference was McKenley Reid, who scored 11 points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Marian and bumps their season record up to 6-4. As for Regina, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.
Marian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Mercy at 3:00 p.m. on January 20th. As for Regina, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Divine Child at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Divine Child has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 7.
