Softball Recap: West Nassau Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact West Nassau can now relate to. They fell 5-2 to the Paxon School For Advanced Studies Golden Eagles on Thursday. If the Warriors were looking for revenge after losing 8-2 to the Golden Eagles when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Kelsea Bass was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: she pitched six innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, West Nassau saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Vida Kersey, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

West Nassau's defeat dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Paxon School For Advanced Studies, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-5.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. West Nassau will welcome Suwannee at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Paxon School For Advanced Studies, they will be playing at home against South Walton at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
