Basketball Game Preview: Freeman Mavericks vs. Prince George Royals

The Freeman Mavericks will head out on the road to face off against the Prince George Royals at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Freeman turned things around against Maggie Walker on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 79-23 victory over Maggie Walker. That looming 79-23 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Mavericks yet this season.

Meanwhile, Prince George was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 62-59 heartbreaker at the hands of Colonial Heights. One positive for the Royals, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Prince George's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Freeman, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Freeman strolled past Prince George when the teams last played back in December of 2021 by a score of 76-58. The rematch might be a little tougher for Freeman since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
