Volleyball Recap: Cypress Woods Find Success

Cypress Woods hadn't done well against Brandeis recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Wildcats came out on top against the Broncos by a score of 2-0. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered a 2-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Cypress Woods not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Brandeis between 18 and 20 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-18.

Brandeis' loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Samantha Blazquez, who had eight digs and two aces. Blazquez is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last three games she's played.

The victory made it two in a row for Cypress Woods and bumps their season record up to 3-1. As for Brandeis, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-4 record.

Looking ahead, Cypress Woods will host Stratford at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Brandeis, they will head out to face off against Grand Oaks at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
