Recap: Conestoga Christian Cougars vs. Lancaster County Christian Lions
The Conestoga Christian Cougars were the 58-19 winner over the Lancaster County Christian Lions when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Conestoga Christian was just a bucket shy of victory on Wednesday and fell 55-54 to Lancaster County Christian. While losing is never fun, Conestoga Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 331st, while Lancaster County Christian is ranked 129th).
It was another big night for Noah MacCartney, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals for Lancaster County Christian. MacCartney hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. Luke Esbenshade was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds.
Conestoga Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Lancaster County Christian, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
Conestoga Christian will head out on the road to face off against West Shore Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lancaster County Christian will be home for the holidays to greet High Point Baptist Academy at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully High Point Baptist Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine last Tuesday.
