Baseball Game Preview: Fletcher Wildcats vs. Tournament Opponent

The Fletcher Wildcats will take on Tournament Opponent at 2:00 a.m. on Thursday. Fletcher will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

It was a proper cat-fight when Fletcher took on Sterling on Monday. The Wildcats came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 13-9. With that victory, the Wildcats brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Cameron Wilkerson and Kindyn Camerena made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Wilkerson tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Camerena tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Wilkerson also tossed a walk, which is notable because Fletcher is 4-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 10-12 otherwise. At bat, Wilkerson went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run, while Camerena went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI Camerena has posted since back in August.

Fletcher kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, Tournament Opponent had to kick off their season on the road on September 4th, but they showed no ill effects. They walked away with a 9-5 win over Soper.

Fletcher now has a winning record of 14-13. As for Tournament Opponent, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
