Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Beverly). They put the hurt on the Essex North Shore Agric & Tech School Hawks with a sharp 16-7 victory on Friday. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Hawks recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Beverly's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Essex North Shore Agric & Tech School, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Beverly will square off against Westford Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Grey Ghosts have averaged an impressive 8.7 runs per game this season. As for Essex North Shore Agric & Tech School, they will head out to square off against Manchester Essex at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
