Fowler and Platte Valley squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Fowler had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Broncos by a score of 2-1. The Grizzlies' loss signaled the end of their 18-game winning streak.

Fowler saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joe Salvo, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base. Salvo has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Fowler's defeat dropped their record down to 21-3. As for Platte Valley, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 18-9.

Fowler wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 2-1 loss against Monte Vista on the 24th. As for Platte Valley, they have also already played their next game, a 10-0 defeat against Forge Christian on the 24th.
