Baseball Recap: New Prairie's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

New Prairie came out on top against Niles on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run seventh inning. The Cougars skirted past the Vikings 7-6. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Cougars as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Reed Robinson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Zak Henrich, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.

New Prairie's win bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Niles, they moved to 20-5 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Prairie will square off against South Bend Washington at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Niles, they will face off against Kalamazoo Central at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
