Softball Recap: Cardinal O'Hara Lions vs. East Vikings

Cardinal O'Hara and East squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Cardinal O'Hara had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Vikings by a score of 5-4. It was the first time this season that the Lions let down their fans at home.

Hayden Sissons was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she struck out six batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs.

Sissons wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Emily Dill, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

The defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 15-3. As for East, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season.

As of now, neither Cardinal O'Hara nor East have any future games scheduled.
