Softball Recap: Plano East's Victory on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Eight

With a playoff win on the line, Plano East rose to the challenge on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over the South Grand Prairie Warriors. The win was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on eight straight.

Jadyn Dawson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on two hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Julia Wilson, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Chloe Lee was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Plano East's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 24-9. As for South Grand Prairie, their loss ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-10-1.

Plano East will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Warriors: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
