Essex had won eight straight games and Morgan Self did her part to make it nine on Friday. The Essex Trojans walked away with a 49-37 win over the Northumberland Indians thanks to Self, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and 13 rebounds. The match was her fifth in a row with at least 17 points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Amani Brown, who posted seven points along with five assists and five boards. She has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played.

Essex pushed their record up to 13-6 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Northumberland, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.

Coming up, Essex will challenge Rappahannock at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Northumberland, they are taking a road trip to challenge Lancaster at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
