Football Recap: Durant Starts Season with Win at Home

Durant took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Plant City Raiders a 6-0 shutout. For the Cougars, this counts as revenge for the 25-6 win the Raiders walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Durant didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Layla White led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by herself.

Coming up, Durant is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season. they will square off against Spoto at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Plant City, they will square off against Lennard at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Plant City is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak dating back to last season.
