Softball Recap: Vallivue Has No Trouble Against Twin Falls

Vallivue was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Twin Falls on Saturday. Everything went the Vallivue Falcons' way against the Twin Falls Bruins as the Vallivue Falcons made off with an 11-2 victory. This was payback for the Falcons, who suffered a 16-10 loss the last time these two teams met.

Maris Farner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on eight hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, Abbie Egglston and Ali Knowles did most of the damage at the plate: Egglston scored a run while going 3-for-4, while Knowles scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Egglston a new career-high in RBI (three). Sophia Kassotis was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Vallivue kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Twin Falls only managed eight hits.

Vallivue's win ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-1. As for Twin Falls, they dropped their record down to 0-3 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Vallivue will head out to take on Wood River at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Twin Falls, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Middleton at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
