Baseball Recap: Westhampton Beach Comes Up Short

Westhampton Beach was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Comsewogue Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 last Monday.

Westhampton Beach saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shane Jennerich, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Another was James Monserrate, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one RBI.

Westhampton Beach's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Comsewogue, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-3.

While Westhampton Beach had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday.
