Preview: Paradise Honors Panthers vs. Shadow Mountain Matadors

Paradise Honors is 3-0 against Shadow Mountain since January of 2022, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The two teams will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 16th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Paradise Honors unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell to Thunderbird 44-40. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Paradise Honors in their matchups with Thunderbird: they've now lost three in a row.

Morgan Van Dyke put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Jocelyn Leal, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and four steals.

Meanwhile, Shadow Mountain's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 50-35 to Greenway.

Shadow Mountain's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Brinley Lensch, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 20 rebounds, and Audrey Grass who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals.

Paradise Honors' loss dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Shadow Mountain, their loss dropped their record down to 1-11.

Tuesday's match is shaping up to be a scrappy contest: Paradise Honors have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 17.4 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Shadow Mountain, though, as they've been averaging only 20.6 rebounds per game. Given Paradise Honors' sizeable advantage in that area, Shadow Mountain will need to find a way to close that gap.

Everything came up roses for Paradise Honors against Shadow Mountain in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 62-4 victory. Does Paradise Honors have another victory up their sleeve, or will Shadow Mountain turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
