Poteet posted their closest win since March 29, 2025 on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over the Nixon-Smiley Mustangs. The Aggies haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

The victory got Poteet back to even at 2-2. As for Nixon-Smiley, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Poteet didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 6-0 win against West Oso on the 20th. As for Nixon-Smiley, they will challenge Bloomington at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
