Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Highland Park

Highland Park proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 21) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Frankel Jewish Academy of Metro Detroit Jaguars, sneaking past 63-60. Given the Polar Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 187th, while the Jaguars are ranked 657th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The victory (which was Highland Park's fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-3. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 24 points. As for Frankel Jewish Academy of Metro Detroit, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Highland Park will take on Antioch Baptist Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Highland Park knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully Antioch Baptist Academy likes a good challenge. As for Frankel Jewish Academy of Metro Detroit, they will challenge Detroit Cristo Rey at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
