Baseball Recap: Gonzaga Prep's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Gonzaga Prep entered their tilt with Cheney on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Blackhawks. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-4 last Thursday.

Gonzaga Prep got a great performance from Jacob Wilson as he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Those six strikeouts gave Wilson a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Gonzaga Prep let Briggs Beaudoin and Anthony Karis run wild. Beaudoin scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Karis scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Lars Bazler, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Gonzaga Prep's record is now 7-2. As for Cheney, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.
