Recap: Scottsdale Preparatory Academy Spartans vs. Salome Frogs
If the Scottsdale Preparatory Academy Spartans were feeling good off their 37-10 takedown of the North Valley Christian Academy Lions on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Scottsdale Preparatory Academy took a 32-23 hit to the loss column at the hands of Salome on Saturday. Scottsdale Preparatory Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Salome apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2021.
Despite the loss, Scottsdale Preparatory Academy still got an impressive performance from Sarah Hurley, who scored 11 points. Hurley continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Maeve Morgan was another key contributor, scoring 3 points along with 3 steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Salome to victory, but perhaps none more so than Grecia Leon, who scored 11 points along with 5 assists and 5 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Leon has scored at least 25% of Salome's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brianna Thomas, who scored 10 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals.
Scottsdale Preparatory Academy now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Salome, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.
Scottsdale Preparatory Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Valley Lutheran at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Salome's road trip will continue as they head out to face North Phoenix Preparatory Academy at 5:30 p.m. on December 5th. North Phoenix Preparatory Academy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
