Redlands is 1-9 against Yucaipa since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Terriers will be playing at home against the Thunderbirds at 4:00 p.m. Redlands has given up an average of 10.4 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Redlands lost 15-4 to Cajon on Tuesday.
Redlands saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was M Stark, who went 2-for-3 with two runs.
Meanwhile, Yucaipa waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. Everything went their way against the Wildcats as they made off with a 7-1 victory.
Emily Mendoza spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in 15 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Reece Van Arsdall was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Peyton Seevers, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple.
Yucaipa kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Redlands East Valley only managed two.
Yucaipa's win bumped their record up to 15-6-1. As for Redlands, their loss dropped their record down to 5-11.
Redlands' speedy runners might be the difference in Thursday's game. The Terriers have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Yucaipa, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Redlands continue to outrun the ball?
Redlands suffered a grim 14-2 defeat to Yucaipa in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Can the Terriers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
