Baseball Recap: Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia Trojans vs. Calhoun Warriors
Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 14 on Monday, dropping their season record down to 0-11 in the process. They lost 10-2 to the Calhoun Warriors. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-0 back in March.
Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brock York, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base.
As for Calhoun, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-2. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their one-run performance the contest before.
On Calhoun's side, Trevor Rose spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on seven hits. Rose has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Patrick Friedel was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Klocke, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
