Softball Game Preview: Parkway Christian Eagles vs. Plymouth Christian Academy Eagles

Parkway Christian hasn't had much luck against Plymouth Christian Academy recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. Parkway Christian will face off against Plymouth Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. Parkway Christian has given up an average of 12.5 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Parkway Christian is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 19 runs two weeks ago, they were much more limited against Inter-City Baptist on Tuesday. They lost 15-0 to the Chargers.

Meanwhile, Plymouth Christian Academy had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Thursday. They never let the Lancers get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 20 games by six runs or more this season.

Sophie Paryaski made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 26 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Chloe Paryaski was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 12 matches. Another player making a difference was Mariah Wright, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Plymouth Christian Academy pushed their record up to 25-9 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Parkway Christian, they now have a losing record of 7-8.

Parkway Christian might still be hurting after the 15-0 loss they got from Plymouth Christian Academy when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can Parkway Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
