Football Recap: La Junta Starts Season with Victory Against Pueblo Centennial + How To Watch

La Junta gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They blew past the Pueblo Centennial Bulldogs 42-8. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-0.

Special teams played a big role in the game for La Junta, adding 12 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Luciano Jimenez, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

Looking ahead, La Junta is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will take on Mitchell at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Pueblo Centennial, they will welcome Cheyenne Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
