Basketball Game Preview: Shasta Wolves vs. Red Bluff Spartans

The Shasta Wolves will venture away from home to take on the Red Bluff Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Shasta is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Shasta is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Chico on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Shasta was dealt an 84-47 loss at the hands of Chico. The Wolves were down 65-37 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Meanwhile, Red Bluff came up short against Pleasant Valley on Tuesday and fell 48-37. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Shasta will have to keep a close watch on Kayden Leaf and Jaret Bridwell, a pair of players who had a big impact on Red Bluff's prior game. Leaf posted ten points, while Bridwell had seven points.

Shasta's defeat dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Red Bluff, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.

Shasta couldn't quite finish off Red Bluff in their previous matchup back in January of 2024 and fell 61-58. Can Shasta avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
