Softball Recap: Streetsboro Triumphs

Streetsboro proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by 12) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past the Ravenna Ravens 6-4. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Amy Rein was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over 6.2 innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2025. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Olivia DeToro, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.

Streetsboro is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Ravenna, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.

Streetsboro has already played their next matchup, a 14-10 defeat against Roosevelt on the 30th. As for Ravenna, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-0 loss against Norton on the 30th.
